We don’t have a big front yard – probably about the size of a decent living room, but the backyard has been claimed by Lola, the family dog, who still tramples kids. So we went and hung out in the front yard.
Lunch Bucket loves to go outside. She would probably spend her whole day out there if she was given the chance. The only problem is she’s also an adventurer, and not having a front fence, this means constant supervision.
Tootles also enjoys outside, but I think he likes it because it offers a whole smorgasbord of wonderfully dangerous things to eat. Our front yard adventure lasted until I discovered a cigarette butt in his mouth. Who knows how long it had been in his mouth, but we are not smokers, so I knew it had been in the yard for a long time.
But in the brief time we were outside, we enjoyed some wonderful weather and bright sun. I don’t know how many more days we will get more, with winter just around the corner. I realized next year at this time, Toodles would be running around like Lunch Bucket is now. Though I’m excited to see him start walking, I guess I should enjoy his limited mobility while it lasts. It will only be a few more years before they are both faster than me.
