Making Moments: To the Park!

I love this time of year.  It’s getting lighter in the evenings, and the weather is significantly warmer.  Jenni and I took the kids to the park.  That was a lot of fun.  There were other kids on the playground, so I was a little shy to get up there with Lunch Bucket, but soon both found it fun to dig in the sand with me.
We built a couple of miniature castles with dragon caves and roads.  Very simple, but very fun.
Jenni had a great time with Tootles on the playground bridge.  He could hardly stand up unless he held the side bar, but he seemed to love it.

  1. That sounds like it was so much fun! I remember as a kid, it was always so great to go to the park and it was the greatest when Mom and Dad played with us too. You’re making some great memories for them.

  2. I sure hope so. I know it’s making great memories for me.

I’ve thought a lot about how people lose memory of their very earliest years. But whatever memory they lose, the good feelings they’ve developed for their dad will be strong if I have been doing those things that make great memories.

I think that’s why they say what kids learn in the first three years of life will stick more than any other years. The memories of those years will dim, but the relationships and lessons they’ve learned will last a lifetime.

  3. It was fun! I don’t get those parents that just sit on a bench and watch their kids play. How boring is that?
